Why are there not more female adventurers out on the road?

I’m a female adventurer on the road filming for WonderHunters and training by climbing all the mountains I pass for the Explorers Grand Slam Challenge.

I’m at 2,705 metres in the Spanish Pyrenees and I stopped for a cup of tea (very British) and a snack before climbing to just over 3,000 metres. It was wonderful, truly beautiful and a fantastic climb! I did a lot of thinking while climbing today and reflected back over the last month of being on the road and I’m surprised by the lack of female adventurers out there. I’ve come across thousands of men, hundreds of couples, but no other women on their own yet. Why is that? I know a few women who fly place to place alone, but none on the road touring the world, climbing and doing other adventures. Are women conditioned from a young age to believe they can’t do this sort of thing alone?
