This is a commercial I directed for a client with the help of my amazing crew. We shoot in 4k and 8k and tend to use a Mavic Air 2 for the aerial footage, GoPro Hero 8’s, Sony A7III and Sony A9 for documentaries and commercials. It’s a bit different if you direct feature films and for my latest project, a horror film called Utopia we are using a RED camera, which is perfect for action, but not necessary for commercials or documentaries.

This is a bit longer than our videos normally are, but we always start with a longer version for the first couple of drafts, then we edit the video to a finished version no more than 30-45 seconds for the wow factor in order to achieve the most impact for our clients and capture the full attention of their audiences. 😊

I wanted to share this longer version, and the process we go through for any budding filmmakers or for those looking to break into the world of directing. Entertainment is an incredible industry to be in, even during a pandemic. I just love it and technically, I’m learning new things every day. Why my projects are successful is because I’m not a videographer, but a storyteller.

For those that live in British Columbia, do you recognise any of the areas we’ve filmed in?
